Toshiba usually ship their European range of Tecra laptop computers with Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVDs (also known as Toshiba Tecra hard drive Recovery CDs, Toshiba Tecra hard drive Restore CDs, Toshiba Tecra hard drive data Restore CDs, Toshiba Tecra hard drive Recovery DVDs, Toshiba Tecra hard drive Restore DVDs or Toshiba Tecra hard drive data Restore DVDs ). The Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery CDs & Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVDs are specifically designed for your Toshiba Tecra laptop computer, usually contain an image of what was on the laptop hard drive when it was first bought. They allow you to return the machine to its original state (as new). This is particularly useful if the Toshiba Tecra laptop has been attacked by a virus, if the original Toshiba Tecra hard drive has developed a fault, or if you simply wish to replace or upgrade the laptop hard drive, & need to re-install your original software.
The Toshiba Tecra laptop Recovery CDs & Toshiba Tecra laptop Recovery DVDs are also sometimes referred to as Toshiba Tecra Windows XP installation CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP installation DVDs because they completely erase the contents of your laptop hard drive & then re-install your operating system (Windows XP). However, they differ from normal Windows XP installation disks in that they usually Restore all programs which were originally installed on the Toshiba Tecra hard drive when the laptop was first purchased (any additional programs or files which were not originally installed will be overwritten).

We only supply English Language Windows XP Recovery CDs & English Language Windows XP Restore CDs, whilst our Recovery CDs & Restore CDs will accept the original Windows XP Product Key - Windows XP Licence & we now offer a download facility.
If your Toshiba Tecra notebook has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to re-install Windows XP from your Toshiba Tecra Recovery CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD & then install quality anti virus & anti spyware programs .
If your Toshiba Tecra has a faulty hard disk drive (eg; if the laptop hard drive cannot be "seen" by the computer, if it has bad sectors, bad blocks or is making a clicking or loud whirling noise), the best course of action is usually to completely replace the hard drive & Restore Windows XP & the original software from your Toshiba Tecra Recovery CD or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD. This process will usually involve replacing the hard drive & then placing the Toshiba Recovery CDs or Toshiba Windows XP Recovery DVD in the CD ROM or DVD ROM drive & re-booting the system. The laptop should then boot from the Toshiba Tecra Recovery CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD & this will then return the laptop to its original state (as new).
Please note; with some Toshiba Tecra laptops, you will need to tap the "c" key as the system is restarting.
