Gateway European computers are usually supplied with one or more Gateway hard drive data Recovery CDs (also known as Gateway Windows XP Recovery CDs or Gateway hard drive data Restore CDs). The Gateway hard drive data Recovery CDs are specifically designed for your Gateway computer, usually contain an image of what was on the computers hard drive when it was first bought, & they allow you to return the machine to its original state (as new). This is particularly useful if the machine has been attacked by a virus, if the original hard drive has developed a fault, or if you simply wish to replace or upgrade the hard drive, & need to re-install your original software.
The Gateway Windows XP Recovery CDs are also sometimes referred to as Gateway Windows XP installation CDs because they completely erase the contents of your hard drive & then re-install your operating system (Windows XP). However, Gateway Recovery CDs differ from normal Windows XP installation disks in that they also Restore the drivers which were originally installed on the hard drive when the computer was first purchased (any additional programs or files which were not originally installed will be overwritten).
Genner Communications developed the Windows Recovery CD market. We worked with the major manufacturers and supplied Windows Recovery CDs for Acer Aspire PCs and Acer Ferrari laptops - Notebooks, when Acer no longer supported the system. Our business was - is based upon recommendations from the manufacturers, retailers and Microsoft personnel. We were - are world leaders in this field and have an excellent worldwide reputation for quality, integrity and service, we are VAT registered and are members of the Chamber of Commerce.
Following a face to face meeting with Microsoft in January 2009 (in Birmingham UK), we are no longer allowed to supply Windows Recovery CDs. However, we continue to work with Microsoft and (as of February 2010) are developing a range of Re-image CDs - DVDs. These CDs and DVDs are machine specific, will only be available for certain PCs or laptops and work by repairing or recreating an image of the computers original Windows Recovery partition (this product does not include a Windows CD).
We have also agreed to help and assist Microsoft Customers who need to Reinstall Windows by supplying the correct Windows Drivers, Utilities etc for most computer systems. We will also continue to provide full technical support throughout Ireland and Europe.
Our Europe and Ireland - Eire Drivers CDs typically include Chipset Drivers, Graphics Drivers - Video Drivers, Network Drivers, Wireless Drivers, Audio Drivers - Sound Drivers, Instructions, Utilities, Manuals (where available), technical support from qualified - experienced engineers and free delivery either via mail, or via our high speed secure download servers (with free access to future updates).
Additionally; European and Irish customers are provided with instructions (English language only) on how to Install Windows, Reinstall Windows XP or Repair a current Windows XP installation and we can provide free impartial expert advice on which versions of Windows should be used.
This means that Microsoft customers can now successfully upgrade from one version of Windows to another version of Windows (eg; upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows XP, upgrade Windows XP to Windows Vista or upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows XP Home Edition, XP Professional or XP Media Center).
Customers can install a different language version of Windows and use our CDs to install the correct drivers etc.
Customers can also upgrade Windows XP or upgrade Windows Vista and Reinstall Windows XP or Reinstall Windows Vista and use our CDs and services to make sure that the sound, video, wireless, network and internet work correctly.
Genner Communications can also provide confidential information regarding the legality of software and we can speak to Microsoft on customers behalf.

If your PC has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to re-install Windows XP from your Gateway Recovery CDs or Gateways Restore CDs & then install quality anti virus & anti spyware programs .
If your computer has a faulty hard disk drive (eg; if the hard drive cannot be "seen" by the computer, if it has bad sectors, bad blocks or is making a clicking or loud whirling noise), the best course of action is usually to completely replace the hard drive & Restore Windows XP & the original software from your hard drive data Recovery CD. This process will usually involve replacing the hard drive & then placing the Gateway Windows XP Recovery CDs in the CD ROM or DVD ROM drive & re-booting the system. The computer should then boot from the Gateway Windows XP Recovery CDs & this will then return the computer to its original state (as new).
If the Gateways Recovery CDs are no longer available, we can usually supply Gateways Restore CDs which will allow you to reinstall Windows XP with the correct drivers.
